Rabbit Report - 1886
We have noticed this year, an abundance of bunnies in the Old South section of London. One hundred and forty years ago, a reader of Forest and Stream magazine had a question about the types of rabbits in this area. The Arctic hare was not one of them.
More interesting than this post is the person who answered the question posed by the correspondent. Clinton Hart Merriam knew about bears and birds, as well as bunnies. Apart from the Wikipedia entry, see the profile at the Boone and Crockett Club, from which this picture is taken.
